Saint-Malo beach: enjoy the sea in all seasons!

Overlooking the turquoise waters of the Emerald Coast, the city of Saint-Malo is undoubtedly one of the prettiest seaside resorts in Brittany. Between idleness, water sports and coastal hikes, it is an essential meeting place for lovers of the sea. Discover the most beautiful beaches of Saint-Malo and enjoy a refreshing getaway in Ille-et-Vilaine!

Grande plage du Sillon

This large white sandy beach stretches for 3km between the fort of Saint Malo and the Pointe de Rochebonne, a few minutes walk from the city center and the Saint-Malo SNCF station. On site, you can practice a multitude of nautical and windy activities: catamaran, sand yachting, funboarding, kite flying, etc. The large Paramé dike which borders the Sillon is built on the old sandbank connecting the city to the mainland. Enlarged several times, it now houses the most beautiful Malouin villas.

Bon Secours beach

At the foot of the ramparts, this superb beach is one of the activities to do with family in Saint-Malo. Indeed, Bon Secours beach has a large natural swimming pool equipped with a diving board allowing children to swim easily, even at low tide. The terraces laid out on the seafront will allow you to have a drink at sunset while enjoying a breathtaking view of the bay of Saint-Malo.

Môle beach

This very popular beach is attached to the Môle des Noires dike (named after the color of the rocks on which it was built). Sheltered from the wind, it is perfect for swimming and offers a sumptuous panorama of the city of Dinard.

Éventail beach

The fan is a strip of blond sand, located behind the castle of the Duchess Anne (housing one of the most beautiful museums of Saint Malo). Very popular with families, it has many rocks to explore for lovers of shore fishing. At low tide, you can access Fort National, a historic monument built by Vauban during the reign of Louis XIV.

The island of Cézembre

From the port of Saint-Malo, embark on a getaway to the island of Cézembre, 20 minutes by boat from the Malouin coast. Far from tourism and the hustle and bustle of everyday life, many rare species of birds (crested cormorants, tordas penguins, terns, guillemot penguins, etc.) populate the place. An idyllic setting for an unforgettable trip off the Breton coast!

La Varde beach

Sheltered by the Pointe de la Varde, this pretty cove is located north of the city, near the Rothéneuf district. It offers a peaceful setting, far from tourists, to enjoy a pleasant moment of idleness in the middle of the dunes.

Minihic beach

Below a small cliff, access to this pretty beach is via a staircase. It is located just a few minutes by car from the city center and has free parking. Splendid view of the corsair city of Saint-Malo.

Havre beach

Havre beach is located in the Rothéneuf district, north of the city. Nicknamed “the Swiss lake” because of its calm waters, it is protected from the prevailing winds. As a result, it is the perfect place to swim safely, even at high tide. The body of water is perfect for learning to sail at any age.

Rosais beach

Near Briantais Park (one of the largest parks of Saint-Malo), Rosais beach offers a nice walk on a small sandbank with pebbles. Swimming is however prohibited due to the strong currents generated by the Rance dam located in the area.

Walks on the Malouin coast

On foot or by bike, follow the hiking trails of Saint-Malo and enjoy an exceptional view of the surrounding towns, fortifications and coastline! Along the ramparts and the large Paramé dike or from cove to cove, you will find circuits of varying lengths for hikers of all ages and all physical conditions. An activity to do in Saint-Malo for nature lovers, whatever the weather!
