State Gallery Stuttgart is a haven of paintings and sculptures from the 14th century up till the present day. Killesberg Park invites you to relax! Completed in 1939 for the Imperial Garden Show, the park is still the only large, well-preserved example of 1930s landscape gardening. One of the park’s main draws is the petting zoo with llamas, donkeys, sheep and goats. Another attraction is the small train, which you can take around the garden to see it from another angle. Cafés invite you to enjoy coffee and cake, or you can relax and enjoy the sun by the picturesque outdoor pool.
Initially, the old castle had a moat to protect the gardens. The castle’s character was first embellished by Duke Christof von Württemberg. He converted the interior of the old castle into a magnificent Renaissance palace. The castle church was housed in one wing.

You can also take part in a factory tour of Untertürkheim village to see it during production times. Normal museum opening times are Tuesday to Sunday from 09.00 to 18.00. Group tours are also available to book in advance.
The State Theatre’s multi-faceted building is made up of the Stuttgart Opera, the Stuttgart Ballet and Stuttgart Theatre. For all visitors who would like to take a look behind the scenes of the theatre, guided tours are offered, showing the opera house and some theatre workshops. You need to book in advance. The Royal Court Theatre, built between 1909 and 1912, was unfortunately almost completely destroyed during the Second World War. Only the opera house survived. The versatile main hall and the large ceiling paintings in the auditorium are definitely worth seeing.
