Which Saint-Malo market should you visit during your stay?

Every day, Saint-Malo producers set up their stalls in one of the districts of the Corsair City. Fill your basket with delicious local products and enjoy a friendly atmosphere at the Saint-Malo market!

Rocabey Market

A stone's throw from the Sillon and the port of Saint-Malo, the Rocabey market comes alive every Thursday and Saturday opposite the Notre-Dame-des-Grèves church. From the butcher to the fishmonger to the greengrocer, its merchants offer you fresh and seasonal products. A little hungry? Let yourself be tempted by the ready-made meals on sale inside and outside the halls: from the traditional sausage pancake to roast chicken to Cantonese rice, there is something for all tastes and desires!

Saint-Servan Market

The Saint-Servan market takes place every Tuesday and Friday. It is located just behind the Bas Sablons beach, one of the pretty beaches of Saint-Malo well sheltered from the wind. Under the large covered halls, all food shops are represented: fruits, vegetables, fish and shellfish, meat, cold meats, delicatessen, cheese, flowers, etc. Perfect for composing a seafood platter or tasting the specialties of Saint-Malo! Local craftsmen also exhibit their creations on Place Bouvet which adjoins the halls.

Paramé Market

Under a very bright and recently renovated hall, the Paramé market welcomes local traders and producers twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Presence of many non-food stalls (clothing and crafts) on Place Coudray, on Wednesdays only. An excellent opportunity to buy in short circuits and exchange with local merchants in a very pleasant atmosphere.

Saint-Malo Market: the specialties to taste

Fishing in all its forms is a centuries-old tradition of the privateer city of Saint-Malo. Seafood lovers will find what they are looking for on the stalls of the city's markets: line bass, crabs and sea spiders, clams, whelks and periwinkles, Chausey lobsters and Cancale oysters...

As for fruits and vegetables, you will enjoy endives, artichokes, red onions, crunchy apples and beans produced by market gardeners in the surrounding area. Delicious homemade preserves are on sale to enjoy summer fruits and vegetables all year round.

The city of discoverers is also known for its spice trade. Berries, seeds and raw spices, rare peppers, salts and crystals, wild herbs, tea, infusions and rooibos: the city's grocery stores are full of original products and compositions.

Sweetness is not left out in this small town with a strong character. Here, the "potatoes" are delicious little candies flavored with kirsch and the kouign amann (delicious butter and sugar cake) is sold in all bakeries worthy of the name! Another specialty of Brittany, the savory and sweet pancake is in the top 10 dishes served in Saint-Malo restaurants. Moreover, tasting a complete galette is a must-do activity to do in Saint-Malo with your family, solo or as a couple...

Finally, the dairies of the Breton city honor the dairy tradition of the region. In addition to the legendary churned butter (obtained by beating the cream in a wooden barrel), the city is renowned for its flavored butters with multiple flavors. You can enjoy them in the form of a platter, accompanied by local cheeses (Ty Guerlédan, Timanoix or tome de rhuys).
