Where to go in Batignolles?

Are you on a weekend or business trip in Paris? Be sure to schedule a walk in this picturesque district of the 17th arrondissement. Ideal for lovers of art, green spaces, architecture but also shopping, discover the most beautiful places to walk in Batignolles, with or without a guided tour…

A district with astonishing architecture

Located north of Paris, the Batignolles district is often compared to a charming country village. With its small church, its pedestrian streets and its central square, it offers a unique and relaxing atmosphere, like Montmartre or la Butte-aux-Cailles. Famous for its beautiful Haussmannian buildings, the district also has mansions with sumptuous Second Empire facades.

Beyond rue Cardinet, the 19th century bourgeois houses give way to a modern eco-district, with bold architecture. Brilliantly combining urban planning, aesthetics, technology and sustainable development, it rehabilitates the former Batignolles railway site. A place surrounded by nature that houses both residential buildings, offices and administrative buildings, such as the new Paris Courthouse created by architect Renzo Piano.

Modern sector or historic part, walking in Batignolles is offering yourself a bucolic break a stone's throw from Parisian agitation!

Walking in Batignolles: the most beautiful green spaces

A true oasis in the heart of Paris, Batignolles offers pleasant parks and gardens, perfect for relaxing and getting some fresh air at any time.

  • Nestled behind Sainte-Marie church, square des Batignolles is one of the largest green spaces in the 17th arrondissement. This adorable English garden, slightly hilly, is one of the unmissable addresses of Batignolles. Its romantic and beautifully flowered alleys are dotted with benches for picnicking or resting. There are several bodies of water, a cave, a stream, numerous statues and a pretty carousel for children.

  • With an area of 10 hectares, Martin Luther King Park is an impressive achievement. This beautiful green space located at the foot of the Clichy-Batignolles eco-district offers different areas dedicated to the practice of sports (skate park, jogging circuit, basketball court) and outdoor games. Beautiful lawns with deckchairs allow you to relax. In this eco-designed park, the plant kingdom is omnipresent. It also hosts a community garden and a body of water of nearly 3000 m2.

  • Between avenue de Clichy and avenue de Saint-Ouen, Cité des Fleurs is a small island of nature sheltered from urban agitation. This secret street 200 m long, entirely pedestrian, houses an incredibly preserved 19th century housing estate. It is distinguished by its neo-Renaissance facades, its ashlar pilasters with Medici vase in front of each house and flower trees in all the gardens.

  • Finally, south of Batignolles, don't miss a trip to Parc Monceau! This magnificent public garden dating from the 17th century conceals many treasures: Renaissance arcade, century-old trees, birds of various species and splendid bodies of water.
