Où se balader aux Batignolles ? | B&B HOTELS

To the east of the 17th arrondissement, Batignolles is a very lively place in Paris. Both touristy and residential, it has a charm all its own. Are you wondering what to do in the Batignolles district? Discover our selection of activities not to be missed!

Strolling in Batignolles

Walking in Batignolles is undoubtedly one of the most pleasant activities to do in this village-like district. Around Place du Dr Félix Lobligeois, soak up the atmosphere of Batignolles and stroll from one street to another as you please! In neoclassical style, Sainte-Marie church has a triangular pediment supported by four columns in the manner of a Greek temple.

Behind the church, stroll through the flowered alleys of square des Batignolles: in this pretty park reminiscent of Buttes Chaumont park, there are several bodies of water, children's playgrounds, an old carousel and numerous benches for rest. Not far away, Martin Luther King park offers a breathtaking view of the new Clichy-Batignolles eco-district and its ultra-modern buildings. With its 10 hectare surface area, it is one of the largest public green spaces in the district.

Rue Legendre, you will find trendy shops, sublime designer boutiques and thrift stores well known to Parisians. The covered market of Batignolles, perfect for gourmet shopping, is two streets away. Many renowned food shops have taken up residence in the district: you will find, among other things, excellent pastries, delicatessens or cheese shops.

Want a crowd bath? Take a tour of Place de Clichy! Lively and cosmopolitan, it is the haunt of film buffs in the capital.

Ideal for a drink or a quick bite before a movie! It is also a very good starting point for a walk towards Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur. In the evening, join the Moulin Rouge in a few minutes on foot for a grand fairy cabaret dinner on the theme of the Belle Époque.

Walking to the Cité des Fleurs

This astonishing pedestrian street is one of the most unusual places in Paris! Opened at the end of the 19th century, it welcomed at the time engineers and workers who came to work in the locomotive factories of Batignolles. Thanks to very strict architectural specifications, it forms a very homogeneous built complex comprising mansions, bourgeois houses and adorable small pavilions. All the constructions have a garden planted with trees and flowers, giving the street a most pleasant green appearance. A true haven of peace a stone's throw from avenue de Clichy.

Having a drink on the terrace

Nothing better than a drink on the terrace to taste the life of the Batignolles district! Around the central square or in the small adjacent streets, charming taverns welcome tourists and Parisians for their morning coffee.

At the end of the day, the streets come to life at aperitif time: settle into one of the many bistros in the district to sip a cocktail accompanied by a beautiful cheese or charcuterie platter. The bars and restaurants on rue des Dames are among the unmissable addresses of Batignolles.

Guided tour: to do in the Batignolles district

The guided tours offered in the district allow you to discover its fascinating history and its recent developments. From the former Château de Monceau to the Painters' Square, passing through the Batignolles theater and the new Paris City of Justice, follow the guide along the most typical streets of the district. Barbara, Jacques, Brel, Paul Verlaine… through historical anecdotes, you will learn more about the lives of the writers and artists who marked the history of Batignolles.
