This event offers visitors a unique opportunity to discover a multitude of literary works, ranging from novels and essays to poetry, comics and children's books. The stands of local and international publishers offer a wide selection of works in different languages, reflecting the richness and variety of contemporary literary production.

Program for the literature fair at Palexpo

The Geneva Book Fair lasts 5 days and offers a varied program for young and old readers alike. For the occasion, the Palexpo halls are divided into different themed areas and stages (art, well-being, thrillers, society, culture, history, science fiction, etc.) inviting visitors to meet their favorite authors at leisure or discover new literary worlds.

In addition to the book exhibition, the calendar is packed with cultural activities:

  • conferences ;
  • book signings ;
  • public readings ;
  • exhibitions ;
  • literary prize-giving;
  • cinema events ;
  • encounters with words for the very young;
  • spelling contests...

These privileged moments enable readers to come into direct contact with the writers, to exchange ideas with them and to discover what goes on behind the scenes of literary creation. And among the many writers invited, several honored guests representing their countries are in the spotlight from one edition to the next.

Each edition is also a golden opportunity to highlight contemporary themes and tackle topical issues through round tables and discussions. Committed authors, experts and influential personalities take part in these debates, offering a unique perspective on contemporary social, political and cultural issues.

Last but not least, the Salon du Livre de Genève is a privileged meeting place for book industry professionals. Publishers, booksellers, librarians, translators and other players in the literary industry come together to establish contacts, forge partnerships and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the book market.
