Zaragoza Airport

The Modern Zaragoza Airport 10 Kilometers from the Center

Zaragoza Airport is located 10 km from the city center of Zaragoza in a southwest direction, next to the Garrapinillos neighborhood. It is a public aerodrome for joint civil-military use. It is the reference airport for the Aragonese community, La Rioja, Navarra, and the province of Soria. Therefore, several regular bus lines to Zaragoza Airport arrive from various destinations. With six boarding gates and 12 check-in counters, the building can accommodate up to 900,000 passengers per year. Since 2019, it is the second busiest airport for air cargo in Spain, behind Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport.

Its current infrastructure is modern because it was renovated between 2006 and 2008 for the Zaragoza International Exposition. This significant renovation resulted in a new passenger terminal, the expansion of the aircraft parking apron, parking lots, and exterior roads. Currently, it has five cargo terminals and will soon have a sixth, which is under construction because in 2020 its surface area was expanded to accommodate large tonnage aircraft, such as the B747-800.

Its terminal building has also been reorganized to improve the quality and service area for passengers.
