What to do in Granada?

Granada is one of the most beautiful and popular cities in Spain. Located in the autonomous community of Andalusia, this city is full of legends and stories. You will undoubtedly see a lot of charm and will continue to discover unique corners during your stay.

Are you planning a getaway to Granada? Are you going on vacation to Andalusia and want to visit several cities? In this article, we share with you the activities and incredible places you can't miss.

The Alhambra

Let's start with the obvious: The Alhambra. It is the most visited monument in Spain, with thousands of visitors every year. An architectural marvel of the 9th century that will leave you speechless. In history, the Alhambra was both a city, a fortress, and a palace erected by the Nasrid dynasty of the Kingdom of Granada. There is no doubt that this monument is the absolute symbol of Muslim art in Spain and Europe.

The Alhambra was declared a World Heritage Site in 1984. To visit it in its entirety, it takes about 3 hours. Since this monument attracts many Spaniards and foreign tourists, we recommend booking tickets in advance. You can buy your ticket online. Also, if you feel like it, you can also plan a typical guided tour to not miss any information about this monument.

Enjoy the Alhambra!

Granada has the oldest Arab baths in all of Spain. Don't miss it and discover an Arab bath with soul, history, and very typical and traditional architectural structures.

If you fancy a bath, we recommend booking the famous hammam Al Ándalus and relaxing like never before. Through its music, light, and architecture, the hammams Al Ándalus will transport you to another century.

You can also enter the Bañuelo baths of the 11th century by visiting the famous Carrera del Darro.

The Paseo de los Tristes

The Paseo de los Tristes is one of the essential areas you have to visit. In fact, it is the most beautiful and famous street in Granada. Until the 9th century, this area was one of the busiest in the city. Parties and numerous festivals were organized there. Do you like taking landscape photos? Do you like heights and panoramic views? Then, we recommend climbing to the San Nicolás viewpoint. You can contemplate the entire city with spectacular views.
