Benicàssim is one of the most touristy and visited towns in all of Castellón. In this municipality we can enjoy beach days, water and sports activities, attend the Benicàssim international festival, spend a day at its water park or take a walk along its beautiful promenade next to the Mediterranean. A proposal of activities for all tastes and ages that make it an ideal place to go on vacation.
The main thing is surely its beaches. Five of them have been awarded the Blue Flag, awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). This award guarantees the quality of the water, safety and accessibility to the beaches, services and environmental information. Therefore, any of its beaches is a great choice. Thus, on the beach of Benicàssim we can find Voramar beach or Els Terrers beach.
Beyond its beaches and what it means to enjoy Mediterranean life, in this municipality of the Valencian Community we can also enjoy history, culture and music. In fact, festivals are one of its great attractions, especially the FIB, also known as the Benicàssim international festival. The 2022 edition of the festival is currently being prepared, after more than 25 years of editions, which has made it a benchmark on the Spanish music scene. But, this is not the only festival, another of the best known is Rototom Sunsplash, focused on reggae music.
Another event worth highlighting in this municipality of Castellón has to do with the arrival of summer and the celebration of San Juan. On the coast of Benicàssim, thousands of people gather around the fire to celebrate the arrival of the summer period. An event that is worth enjoying on our trip to the province of Castellón.
For history lovers, the abandoned Las Palmas convent, built in the 18th century, is a must-see. In its first construction it was destroyed by an earthquake. Within the Las Palmas Desert Natural Park we can also visit both the Montornés Castle and the Torre de San Vicente, built in the 16th century and located by the sea. As for the architectural attraction within the town center, Villa de Santa María del Mar also stands out, within its 19th century villas, since it is in a privileged area with unbeatable views.
Finally, for the little ones, and not so little ones, we find Aquarama, a water park with high slides, swimming pools and many more activities that will make us spend a most idle and fun day.
Among the wide range of hotels, B&B Hotel Castellón stands out thanks to its services and its affordable price, which makes it one of the best cheap hotels in Castellón. Located in the center of Castellón and a few minutes from the station, it is a great option to visit this Valencian province, as it is close to the rest of the towns. From here to Benicàssim it takes just over 10 minutes by car. With all the comforts and a 24-hour reception, this is the best option to stay in the city.
