The best beaches in Alicante

Alicante is one of the most visited provinces during the summer months, although you can also take advantage of the good weather the region enjoys during spring to visit its incredible beaches. Alicante is an oasis on the Mediterranean coast and receives European recognition each year, awarding its beaches blue flag status. Here, you'll find crystal-clear waters perfect for diving and enjoying a perfect day on the coast.

The Best Beaches in Alicante

The most famous beach in the entire province of Alicante is, without a doubt, San Juan Beach. And it's no wonder. Its more than 3 kilometers of fine, golden sand combined with the transparent Mediterranean waters make it an incredible place. From the beaches of Campello to Cabo de la Huerta, you'll find one of the best beaches in Spain.

If you're going to Alicante, you also can't miss Albufereta Beach, one of the most beautiful on the Costa Blanca in the north of the province. Of course, it's a smaller and less visually spectacular beach than San Juan, but it's also quieter for enjoying an afternoon of swimming.

Right in the capital, you'll find Postiguet Beach, which has a blue flag. It's one of the best beaches in an urban area and ideal for taking a walk and enjoying the nighttime promenade that Alicante offers. Plus, it's surrounded by history, as it's located at the foot of Santa Bárbara Castle.

And when talking about Alicante beaches, we must mention El Albir, one of the most famous beaches, which also has a walk of fame. In addition to having a blue flag, the views are spectacular. In the background, you can see the Peñón de Ifach, and in front, the municipality of Calpe. Its waters are ideal for diving.

You also can't miss the beaches of Tabarca Island, off the coast of Cabo de Santa Pola. Since 1964, it has been considered a Site of Cultural Interest and has several spectacular beaches, some of them with stones, but with turquoise waters more typical of the Caribbean. Moreover, it's considered a marine reserve and has great natural wealth.

In Alicante, you'll find beaches for all tastes and ages. In addition to the capital, in nearby municipalities like Benidorm, Altea, Jávea, Racó de Conill, or Granadella, you'll also find beaches that will enchant you on a dreamlike coast.
