Organizing your stay in Nice

Thanks to its enchanting landscapes and Mediterranean climate, the south of France is a very popular destination… and Nissa Bella is no exception to the rule. At the foot of the mountains and by the sea, on the Franco-Italian border, this pretty Provençal city enjoys an exceptional location!

The city can be enjoyed in any season, even if the summer period is particularly busy. If you prefer calm and tranquility, opt for a stay in spring or autumn: you can enjoy very pleasant weather and swim in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean! In February, the city vibrates to the rhythm of the Nice carnival, an event attracting tourists from all over the world. The budget to plan for visiting Nice at this time (plane ticket, accommodation, activities) is higher than the rest of the year.

Dynamic and pleasant, the city is suitable for both family vacations and a weekend with friends or lovers. The variety of activities and tourist and cultural sites should satisfy all desires!

Things to do during your stay in Nice

1 - Take a walk on the Promenade des Anglais

This large avenue dating from the 19th century has undergone various development works to become one of the most famous places on the French Riviera. From Old Nice, it follows the Baie des Anges to the modern district of Arénas, along the beaches, casinos and the most sumptuous Nice palaces. On foot, by bike, rollerblade or even scooter, it is impossible to miss the Promenade des Anglais in Nice during your stay!

2 - Eat a socca in the historic center

The socca of Nice is one of the specialties of Mediterranean cuisine. This pancake made from chickpea flour, traditionally cooked over a wood fire, can be enjoyed in Nice restaurants, on site or to take away!

3 - Admire the boats at Port Lympia

A stone's throw from the center of Nice and the castle hill, Port Lympia welcomes beautiful pleasure boats, cruise ships and luxury yachts calling at the Nice coasts. We also admire the «pointus», the pretty traditional boats of the local fishermen sporting their bright colors under the midday sun.

4 - Shopping around Place Masséna

Want to go shopping? The Place Masséna in Nice is an excellent starting point for your shopping day! Under the arcades of this large esplanade and in the adjacent shopping streets, you will find many shops (major brands and designers). For your gourmet shopping, head to the Cours Saleya. Known for its sublime flower market, it also hosts stalls of fruits and vegetables, crafts and local sweet and savory delicacies.

5 - Visit the museums of Nice

The museums of Nice offer a dive into the art, history and cultures of the Mediterranean and elsewhere. Ideal for a cultural stay!

Seaside city par excellence, the city is of course a dream place for swimming and relaxation. Put your towel on the beaches of Nice for a day of sunbathing and swimming… Whether they are public or private, all the beaches of the city are equipped with showers and toilets. Some have access ramps and adapted equipment (amphibious chairs, fries, vests) to offer swimming assistance to people with reduced mobility or disabilities.

What to see around Nice

Enjoy your holidays in Nice to discover the most mythical places of the Côte d’Azur:

  • Spend a day in the principality of Monaco, a city full of history and charm and a favorite resort of the Jet-Set;
  • Walk on the Croisette in Cannes, the capital of cinema, and climb the steps of the Palais des Festivals;
  • Walk the Cap d’Antibes trail and linger in the narrow streets of this small city with its preserved charm.

The Italian border is only 1 hour away by car. Treat yourself to an excursion to Ventimiglia and visit the Balzi Rossi caves, the ruins of the ancient theater and the Hanbury gardens, the largest acclimatization garden in Europe. You can also go to Corsica by ferry (6 hours crossing) or by plane (the flight lasts 50 minutes) from Nice.
