Rust sights: Experience adventure at Europapark Rust

The Europapark Rust promises adrenaline kicks in over 100 rides and enables a very personal adventure for every family member. Here visitors can look beyond the borders of Rust. On foot or with one of the park's own rides, 15 European "countries" can be visited. Beyond that there are further theme worlds, like the adventure land or the fairy tale world. If you want to escape from everyday life, it's best to take part in one of the varied, colorful shows at the Europapark, for example there are variety or flamenco shows to marvel at. Every year in February the Euro Dance Festival takes place for enthusiastic dancers. Don't miss the main attraction at Europapark, the Silver Star roller coaster!

Find recreation in the Taubergießen nature reserve

The Taubergießen nature reserve, one of the largest protected areas in Baden-Württemberg, is characterized by its diverse flora and fauna. The spaciousness of the landscape is not only beautiful to look at, but there are also countless opportunities to actively discover the natural environment in the Taubergießen Nature Reserve. For a Taubergießen-Tour by bike you can choose one of the varied circular routes. The paths are just as suitable for hikers as for exploring the Taubergießen area with a dog. For the particularly adventurous, boat trips in the Taubergießen nature reserve are recommended. This gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy the natural paradise individually and to return to the B&B Hotel Rust-Ettenheim after a day in the countryside in a balanced way.

Community of Rust: Sights, history and art

The Balthasar Castle, located in the heart of the Europapark Rust, was built in the 15th century. Today it offers an excellent opportunity for a restaurant visit in a royal atmosphere. The former manor house of the noble family Böcklin von Böcklinsau from 1598 is still inhabited. It is worthwhile to admire the beautiful half-timbered building from the outside during a walk. Afterwards you will pass the Catholic Parish Church of Peter in Chains, which is consecrated to the fishing patron Saint Peter. If you have a little more time, you can take a tour of the parish church and marvel at the extraordinary ceiling paintings by Reinhard Dassler. But don't be frightened: You may discover a skyscraper among the disciples and a motorcycle helmet next to Mother Theresa, exceptionally contemporary. Other sights in Rust are the Museum of Orchards, the Old Town Hall, the Upper Rhine Tobacco Museum, the Heubergturm viewing platform and the Elzwiesen landscape conservation area.
