The city of Schwerin levies an "overnight tax". The tax applies to all guests staying in the city overnight in a private capacity. The tax is set by the city of Bremen and amounts to 5% of the accommodation costs. Business travelers are exempt from the tax. Appropriate proof/documentation of business travel must be provided during check-in. The hotel must forward the collected tax to the City of Bremen and show the documentation the guest has provided.
