Like its neighbors Marseille, Aubagne, Martigues or Toulon, Aix-en-Provence is pleasant in any season.

In spring, the region regains colors and scents. It's time to admire the green landscapes of Sainte-Victoire and the lavender fields! Temperatures allow you to enjoy the outdoors from morning to night, with a beautiful sun and pleasant nights. It is a quiet period in terms of tourism, perfect for organizing a romantic weekend in Aix-en-Provence.

In summer, Aix comes alive. The terraces of Cours Mirabeau are always full, and the glaciers are stormed! To cool off, there is no shortage of options:

  • the beaches of the Calanques National Park, 45 minutes by car;
  • the parks of Aix-en-Provence and their shaded alleys;
  • freshwater swimming in Martigues or Lake Peyrolles.

It is the festival season, including the Aix-en-Provence festival, one of the biggest lyrical events of the summer.

In autumn, the climate remains mild and the days very sunny. The beaches are empty, but the sea is still warm: a stay in Aix-en-Provence allows you to fill up with light and heat before the first frosts!

Finally, winter offers the opportunity to discover the region in a new light. During the holiday season, local artisans and producers set up their chalets at the Aix-en-Provence Christmas market and many activities are organized for the occasion.

How to get to Aix-en-Provence?

In the heart of the Bouches du Rhône department, the city is easily accessible. Various solutions are available to you, even with a limited budget.
