Events held in Bordeaux from January to July
In this first part of the year, discover the festivals, fairs and other unmissable events of the city.
- The winter clearance sale: in February, for 3 to 4 days, 400 traders come to unpack their goods in the pedestrian streets of the city. Shoes, sweaters, coats, the clearance sale allows to sell unsold stocks at very attractive prices. In total, more than 200,000 visitors come to make good deals at the winter clearance sale.
- Bordeaux celebrates wine: in even-numbered years in June, the city celebrates its love for wine. For 4 days, winegrowers and wine merchants meet on the Bordeaux quays to showcase their productions. Local artisans are also present to offer tastings of their goods in association with wine.
- Bordeaux celebrates the river: alternating with Bordeaux celebrates wine, the river festival takes place every odd-numbered year, in June. A true ode to the river world, the city welcomes sailing ships and other majestic boats, like the Sedov or the Kruzenshtern. Animations such as music, dance, artistic performances are organized on the banks of the Garonne.
- The funfair: it is usually held in March and also returns in October, every year. Popular with young and old, the funfair offers many thrilling rides. Flying chairs, Ferris wheel, ghost train, everything is done to give goosebumps! Gentler attractions are available for the youngest, without forgetting the essential shooting and food stalls.
- Les Epicuriales: this is the meeting place for all gourmets. Installed for 10 days in summer, the ephemeral village of the Epicuriales offers dozens of different stalls. The 2nd part of the year also offers many events to discover as soon as possible.
- The flea market: present twice a year, at the end of April and the end of November, the flea market attracts bargain hunters of all kinds. Antique dealers, second-hand dealers and confectioners exhibit their finds. At the same time as the flea market, the ham fair takes place, attracting a more gourmet public.
