Events Stuttgart

Have you always wanted to experience the SWR Symphony Orchestra live, laugh your head off at comedy evenings or cheer on your favorite hip-hop band? Then Stuttgart is the place for you! Whether it's rock concerts in the Liederhalle, an opera premiere at the Stuttgart Opera or simply partying at the big spring festival - B&B HOTELS  can give you the best tips for the hottest events and locations in the cultural capital.

Annual festivals

Depending on your taste, the city on the Neckar offers numerous events for all those interested in culture and celebrations. Probably the best-known major events are the Volksfest and the Spring Festival, which reflect the region's joie de vivre as an important cultural heritage. Both festivals take place on the Cannstatter Wasen, a 35-hectare festival site on the banks of the Neckar in the Bad Cannstatt district.

Here, festival tents with live bands ensure a good mood and a unique party atmosphere. In addition to the party tents, there are classic fairground rides that delight young and old alike. The Cannstatter Wasen folk festival takes place in October, while the spring festival is of course organized in spring. In total, around 5 million people visit the two events every year, which represent a highlight in Stuttgart's calendar of events.

Theater & Ballett

If you are more into theater, ballet or symphony orchestras, the Liederhalle Culture and Congress Center in Stuttgart-Mitte is the place for you. The hall is actually a building complex consisting of a concert hall and a congress building. Wagner is performed here, the renowned SWR Symphony Orchestra is a guest and even Böhse Onkelz symphonies are interpreted here. Jazz concerts, longer readings, comedy shows and trade fairs are also on the program.

Operas & Concerts

There is of course more opera at the Stuttgart Opera. Together with the Stuttgart Ballet and Schauspiel Stuttgart, the State Opera forms the Württemberg State Theater Stuttgart. It is therefore a multi-genre theater in which, in addition to opera, ballet and theater also form a focal point. The broad spectrum of opera, ballet and concerts characterizes the cultural life of the city. With The Magic Flute, Hansel and Gretel or Wagner's Götterdämmerung, you can experience the Württemberg State Orchestra, which is a symphony and opera orchestra in one.

You can subscribe to the newsletter of all these cultural institutions, which will keep you informed about the current program. This way you always know immediately where your favorite events are taking place and are guaranteed to get tickets!

Further events from various categories

Other events await you during your visit to Stuttgart: the annual public trade fair for tourism and leisure takes place at Messe Stuttgart. Here you can get musical tickets for the whole season at the trade fair price or find out about the numerous cycling and hiking trails in the Neckar Valley.

Jazz lovers will be thrilled by the Jazzopen Stuttgart in July, a renowned festival with international artists. The Stuttgart Wine Village takes place from August to September. An old tradition has existed since 1974: every year, the city center is transformed into an atmospheric village with around 120 colorfully decorated vine arbors. Around 500 different wines from Württemberg are served and tasted.

In November, you can marvel at the proud animals and their talented riders at the Stuttgart German Masters international horse show. Whether sculpture, textiles, photography or ceramics - here you can take part in courses, discover a completely new discipline for yourself or give free rein to your talent. But you don't necessarily have to be active yourself. There are also events such as exhibitions, concerts and lectures that are open to everyone.

Other first-class venues in the area

There are other first-class venues in the Stuttgart region that are well worth a visit. In the west of the cultural capital, in Eltingen, a great program awaits curious visitors in the Stadthalle Leonberg: symphony orchestras, vernissages, workshops, concert evenings and numerous events for children delight the audience. The Stadthalle is also ideal for conferences, congresses and family celebrations - so don't forget to visit if you have something to celebrate!
