Planetarium Stuttgart

The Carl Zeiss Planetarium Stuttgart is located in a beautiful and historic park: the 600-year-old Mittlerer Schlossgarten. The planetarium, which reopened in 2016, was extensively renovated and features fulldome projection technology. It is a fascinating place where the exploration and communication of astronomy and space research becomes a reality. Take advantage of your stay in Stuttgart to visit the planetarium: the journey into the depths of the universe will leave a lasting impression on young and old alike.

Exciting regular events

Every quarter there is a new program about space research, from the solar system to galaxies and constellations. The wide range of topics is presented in an entertaining and educational way. Half of the 25 or so events per week are suitable for children. Whether it's the small 1x1 of stars and planets, a trip to Mars, the stars over Stuttgart depending on the season or everything about solar storms - there is always something for young and old.

Music shows are also very popular and are part of the regular program. The music of Queen or the album Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd are perfect for a dome projection with their crazy sounds and rhythms. Laser light effects and theatrical fog make it perfect for diving or taking off. The monthly Tunesday, a Tuesday evening with live music from 8 pm, or interactive events where visitors can control the contents of the dome with their smartphone, are also among the popular regular events and special events.

Educational oppotunities for everyone

In addition to public screenings, the planetarium also offers educational programs for schools and groups. These programs are specifically designed to familiarize students and young people with astronomical concepts and spark their interest in the science of the universe. With interactive presentations, workshops and educational materials, these programs promote an understanding of astronomy in a fun and interactive way.

Children are not the only popular audience for planetariums. Adults can also learn about new astronomical events and the latest research through regular shows, popular science talks and seminars. These events provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and promote understanding of the latest developments in astronomy.
