The castle, which was rebuilt in 1661 and is itself a living monument, is nowadays partly used by the city administration. Nevertheless, castle tours are possible, in which the medieval building can be viewed.
In the zoo Möchengladbach, this opened in 1957, you can endtecken and explore up to 90 species of animals. Also partly unusual animals such as the coati or the ocelot. It is also possible to take a short break in the zoo restaurant.
The public park "Bunter Garten" is one of the most popular parks in Mönchengladbach. In it you can find trees and other plants, some of which are up to 100 years old and have been blooming there since 1890. The park extends over 30 hectares and is divided into three sections (Kaiserpark, Botanischer Garten and Bunter Garten). In addition, the garden has a playground for the little ones and a bird aviary with over 200 animals.
