Landmarks and Must-See Places in Tychy
Tychy is a city that can truly surprise. It combines a rich brewing heritage, industrial history, and charming places for relaxation. Here are some of the key attractions worth visiting:
Tyskie Browary Książęce – Tradition Brewed for Centuries
Visiting Tychy and not touring the Tyskie Browary Książęce is like being in Kraków and not seeing Wawel – it simply doesn't feel right! This place is an integral part of the city's history and one of the most recognizable symbols of the region. The distance from B&B HOTEL Tychy is just 2.5 km. The golden brew has been crafted here since 1629. This is where the famous Tyskie beer is produced, cherished both in Poland and abroad. By visiting the Tyskie Browarium, you can immerse yourself in beer history and discover the secrets behind the creation of this golden beverage. Adults can also take a brewery tour to see firsthand the brewing and bottling processes. To finish, it’s worth stopping by the Pub under the Brewery to taste the freshly brewed beer, all set against the backdrop of the beautiful, historic brewery architecture that adds a unique atmosphere.
Familioki – The History of Working-Class Housing
Near the Tyskie Browary, you will find another exceptional place on the map of Tychy. This is the over 100-year-old historic estate called Osada, located in the northernmost district of Tychy – in Czułów, at Katowicka Street. Built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries for the workers of the nearby princely paper factory, it consists of brick residential buildings known as familioki, where the lives of working-class families once thrived. Walking through this estate, you can step back in time, feel the atmosphere of old Tychy, and marvel at the architecture of the place, which, after revitalization, has a lot to offer.
Browar Obywatelski (Citizens' Brewery)
Between the PKP Tychy Główne train station and the Kobiórski Forests, about 5 km from our hotel, you can stumble upon the Browar Obywatelski. It is one of the most distinctive and atmospheric places in Tychy, captivating not only with its history but also with its beautiful and unique industrial architecture. Although the brewery has not produced beer since the 1990s, life still thrives here. Among its brick walls, conferences, training sessions, concerts, events, and cultural activities are organized. The old brewing house now houses an art gallery, and on the premises, there is also a recreational green area and a restaurant serving its own beer.
City Museum of Tychy – A Journey Through Time
If you want to understand Tychy "from the inside out," be sure to visit the City Museum at Plac Wolności 1, located just under 3 km away from us. This is a place where history comes alive through unique exhibits and fascinating displays. Here, you will learn not only about Tychy’s brewing traditions but also hear about the development and life of its residents over the years, embarking on an extraordinary journey through time. The museum also organizes workshops, meetings, and themed events that allow for a deeper understanding of this fascinating city.
Hunting Lodge in Promnice
Nine kilometers from our hotel, just beyond the administrative border of Tychy, in the KLobiór commune (Pszczyna County), another remarkable site awaits discovery. Nestled among trees, the historic Hunting Lodge in Promnice is a true gem of neo-Gothic architecture. Built in the 19th century as a hunting residence for the Pszczyna princes, it still enchants with its elegance and the atmosphere of bygone days. Picturesquely located by the shores of Paprocany Lake, it is an ideal spot for a walk and a moment of respite from the city’s hustle and bustle. Inside, you can admire stylish interiors and historical exhibits related to hunting traditions. This magical place transports visitors to the world of aristocratic hunting and past courtly customs.
The complex is currently undergoing renovations and will be closed to visitors until the end of October 2025.
