Our B&B Hotels in Saxony

Welcome to Saxony, the land of early risers. This is what it says on the signs as soon as you drive into the easternmost federal state, which borders the Czech Republic, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and a few kilometers on Bavaria. Here you can find out everything about the best sights, activities and places in Saxony.

The B&B Hotels offer you affordable rooms in Dresden, Chemnitz, Leipzig-City or Leipzig-Nord, from where you can discover health resorts, museums or hiking paradises. As in all our accommodations, your modern room has free Wi-Fi access, a private bathroom with a shower and you can book a great breakfast.

A cultural journey through the country

Cultural trips are particularly suitable in Saxony, as many cities such as Dresden, Leipzig or Chemnitz have a moving historical past and a great cultural wealth. The cultural landscape, which is over a thousand years old, is expressed in over 500 museums.

Follow in the footsteps of famous composers, architects and artists and learn more about the life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach, Richard Wagner, Robert Schumann and Carl Maria von Weber. The popular Leipzig Thomanerchor and the Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Dresden or the Choir of the Church of the Holy Cross are among the most famous ensembles in the world and make musicians' hearts beat faster.

Sights such as the Semperoper, the Frauenkirche and the Zwinger in Dresden, the Völkerschlachtdenkmal in Leipzig or Moritzburg Castle are the most important landmarks of the state. Music festivals, theater performances and art collections of international standing characterize the cultural scene. Saxony is a center of music with highlights such as the Semperoper in Dresden, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig or the theaters in Chemnitz.

What you should definitely do in Saxony

Anyone visiting the state capital Dresden should not miss a visit to the Semperoper, the Frauenkirche and the Zwinger. In Leipzig, the Völkerschlachtdenkmal, the market square, the Mädlerpassage and the Panometer await curious visitors. But also outside the cities, Saxony offers great experiences for young and old.

Away from the metropolises, there is much to discover: north of Dresden near Pillnitz, a visit to the castle and park is worthwhile. South of Leipzig, bathing lakes such as the Cospudener See invite you to spend relaxing afternoons. In any case, your B&B hotels are never far away.

Into the city

Meissen is the cradle of porcelain and is easily accessible from our B&B hotels. For 300 years, the finest porcelain has been produced in Meissen using elaborate manual work. A visit to Meissen is doubly worthwhile: the beautiful old town with its cute streets and magnificent vantage points enchants guests as well as the sight of the Albrechtsburg in the Elbe valley. A visit to the late Gothic castle is a true experience.

North of Meissen, in the midst of a unique pond and forest landscape, lies the elegant Moritzburg Castle. The former hunting and pleasure palace of Augustus the Strong thrones on an idyllic island and fascinates with valuable testimonies of the living and festive culture of the 18th century.

Out into nature

The Fichtel Mountains

With the Fichtelberg, you can go all the way up: At 1,214 meters, it is the highest elevation in Saxony and an ideal vacation destination all year round. The Fichtelberg is located on the Fichtelsee in the heart of the Hohe Fichtelgebirge Nature Park. With the suspension railway - the oldest in Germany! - you can comfortably reach the summit from Oberwiesenthal in less than four minutes. This is especially popular with the little ones, because on foot you should rather plan around 6.5 hours for the 9 kilometers.

A little tip: Oberwiesenthal is a fantastic spa town in the Ore Mountains in the immediate vicinity of the Czech border. Here you can try regional dishes such as the Fichtelgebirge trout or the sauerbraten with gingerbread sauce.

Saxon Switzerland

The Saxon Switzerland National Park is known throughout Germany. It is one of the most spectacular natural landscapes in Europe and is only a few kilometers from Dresden. The Bastei Bridge is the landmark of Saxon Switzerland and the local "Little Chinese Wall". Further highlights are the Königstein Fortress, which can be conquered on foot, and the Malerweg (Painters' Trail). This varied panoramic trail leads in eight stages over 116 kilometers in the footsteps of Caspar David Friedrich through Saxon Switzerland.

The Elbe Sandstone Mountains are part of Saxon Switzerland and extend beyond the Czech border. It is an impressive natural region that invites you to hike, cycle, meditate and relax. Bad Schandau, by the way, is a small picturesque spa town in the middle of the national park, where the motto is: hiking, feeling good, coming back.

Relaxation & Wellness

South of Leipzig near Zwickau is the Vogtland, which is known worldwide for its instrument making in the "Music Corner". Here visitors find peace and quiet. Situated between the Thuringian Forest, the Fichtel Mountains and the Ore Mountains, you can indulge yourself in brine spas here.

The B&B Hotels look forward to your visit.
