This family-friendly state, with its 3,000 crystal-clear lakes, abundant nature, and an impressive Prussian cultural heritage, surrounds Berlin in its center. It is bordered to the north by Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, to the south by Saxony, and to the west by Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony. With the B&B Hotels, you can discover the idyllic lake and river landscapes of one of the most water-rich states in Germany.
In our hotel, you can spend a relaxing holiday with everything that goes with it: a modern double room with a private bathroom and shower, free WLAN, and a rich breakfast. Your pets are also welcome to stay with us on request.
On your trip, you can enjoy wide horizons and discover world cultural heritage with over 500 castles, manor houses, and country houses. Admire Prussian garden art and architecture, dance at open-air festivals or listen to the Brandenburg Summer Concerts in a historic setting.
Would you like to experience how the Prussian royal family once lived? Then Potsdam, the former royal residence and today's vibrant state capital, is the right place for you. In this city with a glorious past, you almost feel like you are in Versailles. This is where Frederick II received the cultural elite of France in the 18th century, including philosophers such as Voltaire.
Magnificent buildings such as Sanssouci Palace, the large gardens and parks offer peace and enough space for families, couples and walkers who want to explore the world cultural heritage. The Prussian elegance is also reflected in the city center: The Old Town Hall, the Nikolaikirche, the Museum Barberini and the City Palace are worth a visit.
Stroll through the Dutch Quarter with its narrow brick houses and charming cafes. Our B&B Hotel in Potsdam is located in direct proximity to the train station and is also easily accessible by car.
You can experience a real adventure in the Babelsberg Film Park - the first major film studio in the world since 1912. From the Berlin Ring it is only a 20-minute drive to the action cinema, the Sandman House, the Little Muck or the stunt show in the volcano.
Compared to Berlin, of course, everything is "jottwehdeh" - jwd - as they say here, i.e. quite far out. But it is precisely out there that there are manor houses converted into holiday apartments, permaculture farms, creative learning locations, farm shops, potteries, organic farms and various art projects.
The people of Brandenburg are and have always been creative: cardboard plates, earplugs or the thermos flask are indispensable parts of our everyday lives. But Brandenburg is not just the land of inventions. In the east, 30 kilometers from the Polish border, visit the spacious Branitz Park with Fürst Pückler Castle or in the northeast the Uckermark, the most sparsely populated district in Germany.
Fancy a South Seas feeling in the tropics? Tropical Islands is Europe's largest tropical resort. Palm trees, diving school, sauna, spa & wellness and the longest slide in the world provide bathing fun and great memories.
Brandenburg an der Havel is the oldest city in the state and the namesake of the region. Visit the Brandenburg Cathedral and the sophisticated cultural program. Rheinsberg, according to Kurt Tucholsky, is a "picture book for lovers". The state-recognized spa town is located in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin. In the summer months, young singers delight audiences with the Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg.
A culinary journey of discovery with regional specialties should also be on your program. Try the Prignitzer Knieperkohl, a dish made from various types of cabbage, the Spreewald yeast plins or the Prince Pückler ice cream with several types of ice cream.
Almost a third of Brandenburg's state area is under nature protection: There are three UNESCO biosphere reserves and eleven nature parks. The Havelland is one of the jewels of the Mark Brandenburg. Extensive pine and mixed forests, wetlands and floodplains offer nature tourists a quiet and relaxing break from everyday life.
In the middle of the Westhavelland Nature Park lies Milow, Wendish for "favorite place". At the confluence of the Havel and Stremme rivers, water hikers, motorboaters and bathers will find many opportunities for sporting activities.
Fancy a break, on real nature experiences? Whether by bike, wooden barge or canoe - discover the Spreewald, a branched network of small canals and streams. Try Spreewald gherkins and asparagus in the small Venice of the region. The high-quality linseed oil is an ideal souvenir!
Bathing in the middle of pine forests is only available in Brandenburg. The Beetzsee is located just outside the gates of the city of Brandenburg an der Havel. Enjoy the tranquility on the water and the view of the greenery. You can also dangle your legs in the water from the jetty or try stand-up paddling on the picturesque Schwielowsee. At 13 square kilometers, it is the largest natural lake in Brandenburg.
The B&B Hotels look forward to your visit and will be happy to give you the best excursion tips.
